Senior Jordyn Blanson posts up against Southwestern College

North Newton, Kan. - The Bethel College women's basketball team couldn't overcome 27 turnovers and a 27% shooting night to beat the #21 ranked Southwestern College Moundbuilders, losing 48-58.

The game was the last home game for three seniors, Jordyn Blanson, Brandi Florian and Jessica Muckenthaler.  Those 3 players combined for 17 points and 13 rebounds for the night.  

The first half was a struggle offensively for both teams as the Moundbuilders managed to shoot just 34% while the Threshers were just behind that at 30%.  Bethel College found themselves down 20-27 at the half.  

The second half was just a bit better for Southwestern as they upped their shooting to 38% but got a boost by shooting 19 free throws and hitting 14.  

Payton Walker was the lone Thresher in double figures with 16 points, 12 coming from deep.  Blanson led with 7 rebounds.  

Southwestern College (21-7, 15-3) finished the regular as the KCAC runnerups behind Friends University.  Brett Bates led all scorers with 20 points.  

Bethel College will turn around and play at Southwestern College in the quarterfinals of the KCAC tournament at on February 22 at 7 p.m.  Bethel College finished the regular in 7th place in the KCAC and will be the #7 seed.
