KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Steph Shogren (SR/Hesston, Kan.) has been named the NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Shogren was selected based on her performances from April 14-20 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated grouping award winners. 

Shogren, led the Thresher's to a 3-0 week with convincing wins over Southwestern (Kan.) (8-1), Tabor (Kan.) (9-0) and Bethany (Kan.) (9-0). Shogren had a perfect week at No. 2 singles, defeating Tyler Herrell of Southwestern (6-0, 6-0), Anna Friesen of Tabor (6-0, 6-1) and Juliana Bezerra of Bethany (6-3, 6-0). With her partner, Bree Honer, Shogren also recorded an unblemished week at No. 1 doubles, with victories over the top double's tandem from Southwestern (8-0), Tabor (8-1) and Bethany (8-2).

Shogren is currently 13-5 this season at # 2 singles, and 14-5 at doubles with partner Bree Honer, bringing Shogren's overall combined season record to an impressive 27-10.
