North Newton, Kan. - The men's basketball team continues to struggle shooting as they lost their 9th straight against Sterling College 68-94.
The Threshers were only able to score 21 points in the first half on 18% shooting from the field while Sterling College scored 46 on 59% including 55% from the 3-point line.
The second half saw the Threshers more than double their scoring output on the strength of 46% shooting from the field and 50% shooting from deep but Sterling College increased their shooting percentage hitting on 61% of their shots. In the second half Bethel College was only outscored by one point 47-48.
The Threshers had four players in double figures with Lee Griffin leading the way with 14 points. Robbie Wright added 11 and Trevor Ford and Trey Ronnebaum each chipped in with 10. Wright led the team in rebounds grabbing 6.
Sterling College (9-10, 4-3) was led by their all-time leader in made 3 pointers, Trenton Stutzman, as he made 6 from deep and scored 21 points. Cody Brazelton led in rebounds with 10.
Bethel College (1-15, 1-6) will host University of Saint Mary on Saturday, January 14 at 4 p.m.
