North Newton, Kan. - The women's basketball team picked up its second conference win in a row with a 71-64 win over Sterling College.  This was head coach Mark Fox's first win over Sterling College in his six years.  

Solid shooting was the theme for the Threshers as they came out shooting 50% from the field and 50% from deep compared to 41% for Sterling College.  Threshers went in at half leading 36-33.

The second half  saw both teams shooting cool off but Bethel ended the game shooting 42%  and 41% from the field and 3-point line.  Sterling College was held to just 27% from deep and that proved to be the difference as Bethel College made 5 of 11 from deep and Sterling College made 3 of 11.  

Bethel College put four players in double figures with Jessica Muckenthaler leading the way with 18 and Chelsea Harris right behind with 17.  Payton Walker and Taylor Durant both chipped in with 11 points each.  Harris, April Harpe and Durant each grabbed 5 rebounds to lead the team.  

Sterling College (8-8, 3-4) had three players score in double figures with Kinsley Hilst leading with 19 points.  Kayla Eilert led the team in rebounding with 7.  

Bethel College (7-7, 3-4) will stay at home as they welcome University of Saint Mary on Saturday, January 14 with tipoff at 2 p.m.
