Men's Soccer - Thu, Dec. 8, 2011

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. –Bethel College Athletics Director Kent Allshouse has announced that former graduate assistant Brennan Peacock has been tabbed to lead the men's soccer program.

Peacock spent the last two seasons as the graduate assistant for the men's and women's soccer programs. Before coming to Bethel, Peacock spent his collegiate soccer career at Georgia Southern University where he was three-year letter winner and team captain his sophomore and junior years and was part of teams that played in the Southern Conference  tournament semifinals and championship.

"As an assistant for both programs the past two season I have seen firsthand how difficult it is to have one coach for both the men's and women's programs.  The adjustments that are being made by hiring a head coach for each program is setting the soccer programs up for success," Peacock said. "These modifications will help the team be successful in the classroom, community and on the soccer field. There is a lot of potential in the future for Bethel and I am very excited to be a part of it."

Originally from Carrollton, Texas, Peacock earned his bachelor's degree in general studies, with concentrations in business and physical education and health and a minor in coaching from Georgia Southern. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management from Wichita State University.

"Brennan Peacock possesses attributes which I believe will enable him to build a highly successful program here at Bethel College," Allshouse said. "He is highly motivated, confident and approachable, as well as a good communicator who possesses a great knowledge of the game."

"Having been a very successful Division I player himself at Georgia Southern, he knows firsthand what it takes to be a winner," Allshouse continued. "I have no doubt that Brennan is the right person to guide the Bethel men's soccer program to a bright future."

Peacock replaces Jason Moore, who coached both men's and women's soccer at Bethel for four seasons before resigning Nov. 16.  The search for the women's position is ongoing.
