(Lincoln, NE) The Bethel Men's Tennis team opened the season with an impressive 6-3 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan today.

Coach Isaac was very happy with the result.  "This was a great way for our men to start the year after a very difficult season a year ago.  Nebraska Wesleyan is probably one of the top three teams in the GPAC conference so this should hopefully be a big boost of confidence for our team.  The match was played indoors on a very quick surface but once we adjusted to it we played some pretty strong tennis for this early in the year.  We were down 0-2 when Logan & David were able to pull out their doubles match.  That point really gave us a shot in the arm heading into singles and the guys responded.  David & Jesse were able to get us some quick singles wins and put us up 3-2. At that point both Clinton and Logan were involved in some really tight matches and both of them were able to get through some difficult moments and win their third set tie-breakers.  I was really proud of how the guys responded on a tough surface and in a tough environment."
