MCPHERSON, Kan. - The Bethel women's soccer team travled up the interstate to take on McPherson College earlier this afternoon. The team was limited to three total shots in the game, while allowing two goals to the Bulldogs. The lack of offense couldn't keep them in the game, and Bethel fell to McPherson 2-0.
McPherson's first of two goals happened early, just in the 6th minute of action. McPherson put up a total of 10 shots during the first half, while holding Bethel off from making any tallymarks in the category. Kyla Williams (SO/Clinton, Okla.) had two of her three saves in the first half, and Bethel trailed 1-0 into halftime.
Bethel's first two shots both came in the 54th minute of play, as both Kacie Torrens (FR/Castle Rock, Colo.) and Maddie McDaniel (SO/Louisburg, Kan.) gave Bethel a chance but sent shots wide. McPherson tacked on the insurance goal in the 70th minute, and the game was theirs as Bethel could only manage one more shot for the game, sent wide by Araeleigha Heysquierdo-Marcy (SO/Salina, Kan.). Bethel fell 2-0.
Bethel drops to 3-7 on the season, and 0-4 in KCAC action. Their next chance to notch their first conference victory will be on October 11th, when they travel to take on Sterling College at 2:00 PM.
