WICHITA, Kan. - Bethel Football head coach Morris Lolar was named yesterday as the next head coach of the Wichita Force. Lolar has previous experience with indoor football in Wichita, and was the defensive coordinator with the Force last season. Lolar will continue to keep his responsibilities as the Threshers head coach along with this new position.

Before coming to Bethel for the 2015 season, Lolar spent 2009-13 in various roles with the Wichita Wild, a former IFL team. In 2013, Lolar was the head coach leading them to a 12-2 record and a league championship.

"Coach Lolar has assured me that this position will come secondary to his already standing Bethel College football duties," remarked Bethel athletic director Tony Hoops. "The Force practice schedule and game schedule in no way hinders his time commitment & ability to perform the tremendous job he is already doing with our program."

This is not the only connection Bethel has with indoor football, as several players from the Threshers have gone on to make careers in the sport, including current defensive line coach James McCartney. McCartney and Lolar were both inducted into the Wichita Indoor Football Hall of Fame in April of this year.

"This working relationship with the Force allows for new opportunities of exposure for Bethel College."

After having the week off, Bethel travels to Hillsboro on Saturday to take on Tabor College, with kickoff happening at 7:00 PM.
