TULSA, Okla. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team is proud to announce last week's signing of Alex Woodruff, a current senior at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa. Woodruff is the son of David and Anna Woodruff, and will begin his Thresher career in the fall of 2017.
Woodruff was a playmaker while with the Comets, where he scored over 15 points per game, while being able to grab over four rebounds and dish out over three assists per game as well. He was voted as Bishop Kelley's Offensive Player of the Year for 2017, as well as being named to the All-Tournament Team for the Port City Classic. He also played for the Tulsa Hawks AAU squad.
"I'd like to thank God any my family for making all of this possible," remarked Woodruff. "I chose Bethel College because of its elite academic programs and to compete athletically at a high level."
The honor roll student will look to begin his path towards becoming a med student during his time at Bethel.
Head Coach Tony Hoops had this to say about the signing:
"Alex is a quality young man that we have recruited throughout the year and we are extremely pleased to have him sign with us. He brings a great knowledge of the game, work ethic, and is a tremendous student. He is a great example of everything we want in a player here at Bethel."
